Senator Sergey Mitin visits production sites of Vyborg Shipyard

On February 14, at  Vyborg Shipyard (part of USC), there was held a working meeting  of the yard management with First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federal Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management Sergey Mitin, Deputy Chairman of Rybakkolkhozsoyuz Association Petr Dzhunkovsky, Executive Director of NP North West Fishing Consortium  Sergey Nesvetov and Vice President for Technical Development of USC Vasily Boytsov.

The guests looked over the production sites of Vyborg Shipyard and took part in a working meeting to discuss the construction of freezer trawlers at the shipyard, governmental measures to support shipyards implementing domestic fishing fleet upgrading projects.

Then the guests were accompanied by General Director of Vyborg Shipyard Alexander Solovyev, Chairman of the Leningrad regional representation of the all-Russia public organization Russian Engineering Union, to see the large-capacity trawler-processors projects KMT01 and KMT02 being under construction at different stages of completion.

“We’ve  held a very productive meeting, together with the Customer, we told our guests in detail about the construction progress of a series of trawlers at Vyborg  Shipyard, difficulties encountered and ways to solve them, discussed financial situation of the shipyard and the importance of active participation of the state in supporting civil shipbuilding in terms of further renovation of domestic fishing fleet, ”said VSY General Director  Alexander Solovyev.

Eight trawlers in total are presently built at the shipyard, 4 units project KMT01  and 4 units KMT02. Three vessels KMT01 Barentsevo More, Norvezhskoye More, Beloye More and lead ship project KMT02 Nord Piligrim are being fitted out aflout.
