Vyborg Shipyard lays keel for eighth freezer trawler
Vyborg Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) held a keel-laying ceremony for second - in - series freezer trawler project KMT02.02 for ATLANTRYBFLOT JSC (part of FOR Group).
The ceremony was attended by the management of Vyborg Shipyard PJSC, representatives of FOR Group and ATLANTRYBFLOT JSC and district administration of Vyborg municipality.
The guests were greeted by the General Director of Vyborg Shipyard Alexander Sergeevich Solovyev: “I am glad to note that no external factors and epidemiological situation in the world can critically affect the ability of our shipyard to build modern vessels that meet all the requirements of our customers. I wish the entire team of the shipyard to come in full force and skill during the construction of this trawler!"
The chairman of the board of directors of FOR Group Dmitry Germanovich Kozharsky commented: “Dear plant workers! In hard times we are laying our new vessel, but, however, we are still optimistic. We treat all our vessels like children, and newborns - with special trepidation. As parents, we hope for their long life and good fortune. "

", - Ildar Fagimovich Gilyazov, the acting head of the administration of the municipal formation Vyborgsky district , congratulated the shipyard management and representatives of the customer on the significant event.
After the welcoming words, a laying nameplate was attached on a hull section. Then the rite of consecration of the section was served by priest German.

Reference: Seven fishing trawlers of KMT01 and KMT02 projects in various modifications are being constructed in parallel at Vyborg Shipyard. In 2016, Vyborg Shipyard signed contracts for the construction of eight large-capacity processor-trawlers; the lead vessel project KMT01 Barentsevo More (Barents Sea) was handed over to the customer in September 2020.
