On September 24, 2007 the hull of ROV survey vessel Edda Flora (project ST-254 CD) was handed over and shipped by Vyborg Shipyard to company Karmsund Maritime Services AS
On September 24, 2007 the hull of ROV survey vessel Edda Flora (project ST-254 CD) was handed over and shipped by Vyborg Shipyard to company Karmsund Maritime Services AS.
The vessel has the following dimensions:
Length overall — 95,00 m;
Width —20,00 m;
Hull height to main deck — 9,80 m;
Deadweight — 4800 t.
The vessel hull was designed by Norwegian company Skipsteknisk. In course of works for the first time Vyborg shipyard used the methodology of hull assembling on the semi-submersible barge and its further launching in the open water area. For performance of this launching operation the suitable location of water area at Vyborg port was chosen and arranged.
Vessel launching operation was performed on June 21, 2007. Realization of this operation confirmed estimated characteristics of vessel sitting, stability and forecast retaining effect of a soft oozy ground on stability of the barge under water. Successful performance of launching operation made it possible for new assembling technology and launching of the vessels have been mastered enabling to expand a range of technical.
