VSY and FOR Group signed contracts for construction of trawlers
On 18th May 2017, Vyborg Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) and Atlantrybflot and LKT Company (part of FOR Group) signed contracts for construction of two fishing trawlers ST-116XL-FOR.
The vessels will be based on design of the Norwegian company Skipsteknisk and intended for fishing in the Barents Sea. In view of the current workload of Vyborg Shipyard the first vessel is planned to be laid in 2021, delivery of the trawlers is expected in 2022.
"Last year we concluded at once several contracts for construction of trawlers with the fishing companies of the north-west of Russia. Currently the committed order book is providing full workload for the enterprise for the next few years. This year we are proceeding in this direction, negotiating with other potential customers and looking for continuation of the series of vessels under the already signed contracts,” - commented general director of Vyborg Shipyard Alexander Solovyev.
FOR Group is one of the ten leading fishing companies in Russia. Each vessel of the new generation based on ST-116XL-FOR design will have on board a fillet factory, fish meal plant, fish oil producing equipment and canning plant, and will also be fitted with high-capacity cargo cranes and most advanced trawling equipment. In accordance with the signed contracts the trawlers will be reinforced to Ice3 class which will enable to extend the effective fishing time.
