On May 23, 2006 at Vyborg Shipyard will be held a ceremony of launching of supply vessel’s hull for drilling platforms, project VS 470 PVS Mk II. The Customer is Norwegian shipyard «Aker Langsten AS», which is a part of «Aker Group».
Main particulars of vessel:
Length max. — 73,4 m;
Breadth max. — 16,6 m;
Side height to main deck — 7,6 m;
Draft max. — 6,5 m;
Deadweight about — 3550 t.
The vessel is intended for operation in severe weather conditions, that’s why the quality of its structures to be met the very rigid requirements. During the preparation and construction period of the vessel there was mutual cooperation with Norwegian specialists, which allowed to work out optimal technology, connected to technical possibilities of Vyborg Shipyard.
By this event Vyborg Shipyard one more time has confirmed its leading position at Russian shipbuilding market of production for oil and gas fields. Its 20-years’ experience in building of sea platforms allows successfully compete even with recognized in the world leaders in such innovating projects like building of «Sea Launch» complex and «Moss Sirius» platform.
During last five years at Vyborg Shipyard has been constructed more than 15 vessel’s hulls of different purpose, among which nine troller’s hulls, salvage-supply vessels’ hull for platform, two ferries’hulls, four supply vessels’ hulls.
This time at the shipyard are being built additionally fore hulls of specialized vessels with high level of installation of machinery and systems, there are offers for construction of several vessels of the same type «turn-key».
