VSY signed an Agreement for Cooperation on construction of a fishing trawler
Vyborg Shipyard, a corporate member of United Shipbuilding Corporation, signed an Agreement for Cooperation with Nord-Piligrim LLC. Under the terms of the Agreement the companies are planning to implement construction of a fishing freezer trawler of a new generation to be operated in the North Atlantic areas.
In the beginning of 2016 VSY signed the Agreement for Cooperation with Arkhangelsk Trawler Fleet (ATF). According to the Agreement it is expected that a series of four vessels will be built turnkey at Vyborg Shipyard.
“The RF Government is currently developing a draft law to encourage renovation of fishing fleet in Russia. The law focuses on placing the orders with the Russian shipyards. Fishing companies having their vessels built at domestic shipyards will be provided with additional catch quotas. This law is to be developed in February-March 2016, therefore fishing companies have started preparation and searching for potential partners. In Russia there are some shipyards able to build fishing vessels. Vyborg Shipyard is among them,” commented Alexander Solovyev, General Director of Vyborg Shipyard.
The joint cooperation of domestic shipyards and fishing companies will make it possible to renovate and bring up to a new level fishing fleet in Russia.
