VSY and the Leningrad Region Government signed a Contract allowing the Shipyard to start the next stage of modernization
Vyborg Shipyard JSC and the Leningrad Region Government concluded a Contract for providing the investment activity state support. The document was signed by the Governor of Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko and General Director of Vyborg Shipyard Alexander Solovyev.
According to the Contract Leningrad Region provides the shipyard with the most-favoured status including essential tax privileges. This measure will allow Vyborg Shipyard to continue successful works on the shipyard modernization.
Reference. Modernization of Vyborg Shipyard facilities has been started in 2009. In the period from 2009 till 2013 according to the developed modernization program there have been reconstructed and modernized the production sites: steel primary treatment line, blasting and painting chambers, equipment for structures geometry control, a press for bending thick plates with capacity 1000 tons, a press for bending of large-sized profiles have been put into operation.
Besides, for extending production capacities of the shipyard there was designed and constructed a floating dock – barge project Р12840 «Atlant». Since August the hull assembly works of the prototype icebreaker in a series of three vessels for the Baltic region have been started onboard the barge.
Utility facilities of the shipyard and main production sites are scheduled to be modernized in the period from 2014 till 2020. It is planned to reconstruct the outfitting quay, the open building berth and some worksites, to build household facilities, to purchase and install high-performance production equipment.
