Barentsevo More - Best Trawler 2020 according to Baird Maritime
The processor-trawler Barentsevo More, built at Vyborg Shipyard (part of USC), won the Best Trawler 2020 nomination according to Baird Maritime Awards.
The results were published on Baird Maritime portal; the Project KMT01 lead processor-trawler Barentsevo More took the leading position in the Best Trawler 2020 nomination.
By the end of 2020, the organizers of the award evaluated about 100 vessels of various classes. When choosing the winners in various nominations, the innovation, reliability and efficiency of vessels were taken into account.
A series of four processor-trawlers project KMT01 has been built at Vyborg Shipyard since 2017 for Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet JSC (part of North-West Fishing Consortium). The conceptual design was developed by the Norwegian ship design company Skipsteknisk and adapted to the class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping by Marine Engineering Bureau. The lead ship Barentsevo More was laid down at Vyborg Shipyard in May 2017 and handed over to the Customer in September 2020.
