Ceremony of cutting for building of Icebreaking Supply Vessels
On July, 06th, 2011 at Vyborg Shipyard JSC solemn ceremony of cutting for building of icebreaking supply vessels NB-506/NB-507, the Project Sakhalin-1 has taken place. The customers of this project are Sovcomflot JSC and Finnish company Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Oy.
The ceremony of Cutting was opened by the Deputy General Director of Sovcomflot JSC Alexander Kurtynin. In his opening speech he congratulated colleagues and partners with the beginning of building of one of two vessels for the shelf development. Then the floor was given to the Chief of Department of Strategic Development OSK Grigory Menshih, who noticed that the choice of Vyborg Shipyard JSC as the general contractor of this project is not casuall. During the choice of contractor for this order, global experience of shipbuilding companies was considered. After the survey together with companies OSK and Sovkomflot, the decision to handover the order to Vyborg Shipyard JSC was accepted.
General Director of Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Oy Esko Mustamjaki also congratulated all present. As he said the decision of Finnish company to cooperate with Vyborg Shipyard JSC was approved at once, because Vyborg Shipyard JSC has a wide experience of work with the foreign companies, in particular with Finland. The Deputy General Director of Vyborg Shipyard JSC Vladimir Voroshilov thanked the present for given confidence and closed ceremony.
Then the process of cutting was completed.
After that all participants of action were invited to gala dinner where traditional exchange of gifts was made.
