Modernization of production
In 2008 the Board of Directors and shareholders of Vyborg Shipyard JSC made a decision on modernization of production. The term of carrying-out the program has been calculated for three years. In November, 2008 at the Yard the new cleaning line of plates and profiles has been started, that allows to process 35 thousand tons of metal now (for comparison - productivity of an old process line is 18 000 tons).
Start-up of the cleaning and painting room for large-sized sections became the second step in modernization of production. Conditions in this room allow to make cleaning and painting of constructions in weight to 270 tons. The specificity of painting room is what technological process parameters are set in advance and completed automatically, that excludes influence of the human factor. The new complex allows to reduce time spending for cleaning and painting three times. Now the production process for sections is no more than 3-5 days, for blocks - 7-10 days.
Reconstruction of plates and profiles sections, which consists of several aisles, is a following stage in modernization of production. The first aisle is a cleaning of the plates, the second – is plates forming and the third – profiles processing. For today working with profiles is carried out hand tight, beginning from marking and to cutting. Modernization of this production will allow to automate process completely and to increase the bonding production many times.
According to plan, the reconstruction should come to the end in November 2011.
