Lower Hull of the Northern Lights SSFDR was shipped off to South Korea
As it was planned, on the 31st of August after successful execution of operation of positioning, loading out and sea-fastening on board of the special transport vessel there was started transportation of Lower Hull of the Northern Lights SSFDR (NB107) to South Korea. In the territory of the Subcontractor’s shipyard, SHI, there will be carried out works on integration of SSFDR Lower Hull and Topside.
Lower Hull on board the special semi-submersible transport vessel will follow the route from the Baltic Sea to the North Sea, then alongside the coast of Europe and through the Strait of La Manche, the Bay of Biscay then passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.
Estimated date of arrival of the vessel in South Korea is October 14, 2010.
