Final stage of construction of SSFDR “Polyarnaya Zvezda”
Construction of SSFDR “Polyarnaya Zvezda” – GAZFLOT LLC Project on behalf of GAZPROM JSC - is planned to be finished by the end of this year.
Presently SSFDR is in harbour of Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, where finishing works take place on elimination of punches of Regulation authorities and construction supervision groups of Vyborg shipyard JSC, Gazflot LLC and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. After that, in acordance with signed Contract with Chinese Company, the Rig will be towed to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The Rig itself and three tug boats will make a route order. Depending on weather conditions, on December 20-24, 2010 SSFDR “Polyarnaya Zvezda” shall be in the area of Zyryanskaya Bay. Just there, as indicated in contractual construction schedule of SSFDR, the Rig will be handed-over to the Client. At first, the Rig will drill exploration and field wells offshore the Sakhalin Island.
